wear to tips, corners and edges of book, preliminaries show offsetting of frontis, text block darkened but the pages are relatively clean. A New Edition. Full calf, red label, seven bands to spine. Spine shows numeral 7 as this work comprises volumes 7 & 8 of a History of England from Roman times through 1688 by David Hume (4vols.) and continuing to George II by Tobias Smollett (2vols.) As a separate work it is volume one of a two volume set begun in 1803.
