wear to tips, corners and edges of book, covers rubbed with staining. The scarce second edition published by an early, important Mormon press. Elder George Reynolds was a renowned defender of his faith, who went to prison for his beliefs. He left his native England to come to Utah, where he served as the secretary to the First Presidency under Brigham Young, John Taylor, and Wilford Woodruff, who called him to the First Council of Seventy. The first edition was published by Hillison & Etton Co., Chicago. This second edition was published by George Quayle Cannon whose book store and publishing company were the roots of Deseret Books. Cannon, an early member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an important figure in the printing and publishing history of California and Utah. His edition of Reynolds work is quite scarce. Most items ship with free delivery confirmation, electronic tracking and jacket protectors (generally over $10.00) if applicable.
