The WorldCat lists no copies of this edition except e-books or microfilm. Morier was a Syrian born English trader and diplomat. His familiarity with Iran, the Levant and the "Orient" led to his humorous Hajji Baba novels of which this was the first. The book was first published in England in 1824. A two volume edition without illustrations was published in Philadephia by Abraham Small that same year. The introduction by Curzon places the novel within the context of 19th century Middle Eastern geo-politics. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours.
