Much shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book, no jacket. First printing, colophon. Maryland born Lizette Woodworth Reese (1856 1935) was an American poet and teacher. She worked in the schools of Baltimore during her career. This prose work consists of vignettes and short pieces about life in her life-long home of Waverly, Maryland. The town has since been subsumed into the city of Baltimore. Her Waverly, A Victorian Village (1929) uses poetry and anecdotal prose to depict the neighborhood around the start of the 20th century. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible. The Book Shed has a been a member of the Vermont Antiquarian Bookseller's Association since 1997. An online bookseller with a bookshop sensibility!
