Touch of wear to the upper right corner of the front cover, less to the other tips and corners; no jacket. A clean bright copy. First printing, same date. Frontis (no tears or splits) is fold-out color birds-eye view of the canal, many illustrations and diagrams, indexed, 2 pgs ads. Frederic Haskin, an accomplished journalist and world traveller of his time, was best known for his information column, The Information Bureau, that appeared in 100 or more newspapers. Readers would send in a question and his team of researchers would provide a response. The column which ran for 33 years received and answered over 25 million questions. It was in a sense the Google of the early 20th century. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable.
