shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book, tear to the frontis of Theosophical Society founder Madame Blavatsky, ownership stamps of a defunct theological library, else clean and unmarked. First printing, no others noted. First published in 1909 in a printing of 20,000 copies. It was followed in the same year by a second printing designated the "Second Ten Thousand." By the time of the second edition in 1911 the Society had moved from Chicago to Los Angeles. Endpapers have the pasted down introduction by Weller Van Hook, the founder of The Rajput Press. Scarce. The WorldCat locates only one copy of the first printing at the Claremont (CA) School of Theology Library plus one reproduced on microfiche in the collection of Harvard University Divinity School Library. Additionally there are four copies of the second printing at various academic institutions. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
