Very light wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book and jacket; jacket has an area of staining to the lower spine and adjacent rear panel. The staining blends in with the spine, is much more visible on the rear panel and does not affect the book, otherwise clean and unmarked. First Edition stated. The Kennedy were a three generation family of schoolmasters. M. F. Kennedy presents an important account of community life and particularly the schoolmasters role within it along with the changes and developments in American rural education over a one hundred year period.
