An anthology of poems from the newspaper column The Bowling Green begun by Morley in 1920 for the New York Evening Post. This collection is selected from the thousand or so poems appearing in the column during its brief existence. Contributors, called clients by Morley, include: Hilaire Belloc, Stephen Vincent Benet, William Rose Benet, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Ramon Guthrie, William McFee, Elinor Wylie and many others. Morley's one criterion was that he found the verses "recurring to my mind of their own vitality."
